Alaina J. Labbus OD

Dr. Labbus joined Family Vision Center in 2024. Born and raised in East Central Wisconsin, she went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, graduating in 2020 with honors from UW- La Crosse. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana  University in 2024 graduating with highest honors, in the top 5% of her class, and was the recipient of Dean’s Fellowship Award.  

Dr. Labbus completed her clinical training at Expert Eyecare in North Vernon, Indiana, WJB Dorn VA  Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina, Atwater Eyecare Center in Bloomington, Indiana, and  Magruder Laser Vision in Orlando, Florida. She has extensive training in glaucoma and disease management, refractive and cataract surgery co-management, and comprehensive eye care. Dr.  Labbus’ interests include ocular disease and comprehensive eye care.  

During her time as a student, she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, American  Optometric Association (AAO), American Academy of Optometry (AOA), and Volunteer Optometric  Services to Humanity (SVOSH). Dr. Labbus was an associate instructor for optics, accommodative 

and binocular vision disorders, and clinical courses and was a tutor for numerous courses. She volunteered her time with school vision screenings, provided pediatric eye examinations to children in Jamaica, and represented Indiana University at academic competitions.  

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and anything related to sports, and planning her next travel adventure!
